Did you know that over 15% of the population feels depressed?* Symptoms of depression can be as dramatic as a panic attack or a feeling of being chronically overwhelmed. Fortunately, it is possible to find happiness after depression with the right treatment.
Stressors
Depression does not begin without any reason. It can start because you feel unhappy in your job or in a relationship, or because of living or working in a high stress environment. Today the fast pace of our society is not conducive to a relaxed or calm environment, is it? But it is possible to find happiness after struggling with depression.
Stress builds up over time, consuming your supply of energy for happiness. It can be a lack of confidence in a new project at work, worry about how your children will succeed at school, or the experience of a stressful relationship with a family member or a friend. As time passes, the situation doesn’t get better.
Happiness After Depression
Did you know that it all starts in your brain? Because of a stressful situation, you may lack the calmness or awareness to make good decisions and see what matters the most.
A clear mind helps us to see situations with different perspectives and it all starts in the brain. If the brain is unable to process a stressful situation, it will switch to a survival mode that can easily lead to unhappiness followed by depression. The most difficult part is that you often don’t see the starting point. When someone feels depressed, it’s usually after some time and the longer you wait to do something about it, the more difficult it becomes to reverse the situation.
Real Life Results
When Emma** came to InnerOptimal, she had been diagnosed with heavy depression. She was under medication; she had no willingness to cook, and thus she was eating junk food. She was spending most of her time watching TV, numbing herself. She could barely handle her work and she was drinking and smoking a little too much, cutting herself off from social activities.
After a few brain training sessions, she was sleeping better and longer. As the training program progressed, she felt happier as she treated her depression. She started to cook again, rebuilding relationships with her family. She regained confidence in herself and felt happy to be alive. Our brain training program helped her alleviate her depression. As a result, she was able to reduce her medication until it was no longer needed. All of this happened in a relatively short period of time compared to a decade of depression. Her family benefitted from the effects of her happiness and new found positivity. Everyone felt much happier. “My work is still very stressful but I don’t react the same way now” Emma said after a few weeks of brain training. “I wake up full of energy, ready for my day”. Emma found real happiness after depression.
Depression is not a rare disease. It can affect anyone at any age for many reasons. The good news is that you don’t have to stay in this situation. Our brain training program can help you find happiness after depression.
